Default DOHC ecu?

hey guys, i want to put a DOHC ecu on my car. now at my local junk yard, there are more DOHC Stratus than i could count so i was wondering if i could take ecu out of a stratus and put it in my 97 neon with no problems?

No. Needs to be a 97 dohc computer from a neon. You can use other year ones but you need to change some pins. A 95 for sure wont work.

ok thanks. i am finding some 97 ecu on line but a lot of them are for auto transmissions. does it need to be a manual trans ecu to work or can i use an auto one?

Yes an ATX one will work BUT the rev limiter will be lower, check engine light will be on for missing the trans sensors. I would hold out for a manual one.

You can use a pcm from a 97-99 mtx. Can I ask why you want to do this? It will cause your car to run a little rich.
