Default Engine Damper???

Hey, i was looking around on Ebay to see what i could spend my extra money on and i came across a red engine damper shock.... does my engine have one of those and if not, where would i put something like that... it was kinda cool looking....

A picture would be nice. I am not sure if you are talking about the damper pulley or an actual shock.

I'm gonna guess he's talking about the bobble strut. It was used on '96-'99 neons equipped with the manual trans. The stock unit is notoriously weak contributing to wheel hop and poor shifting. There are numerous aftermarket solutions ranging from stiffer shocks to solid mounts. There's a great deal of debate over what's better but regardless you'll see the best results if used in conjunction with stiffer engine/tranny mounts. The stiffer you go the better for traction and shifting but the more vibration is gonna be transmitted into the car.

Just by that pic, that won't work on your car. I bought the solid front and trans "shock" from Howell for around $120. motor mounts

I paid $25 (or whatever it was ) for Jeff's Booger strut on my '95. Love it, vibrations and all.
