ecu compatability on a 2.4 swap
I think hes referring to the N/A 2.4 from the stratus. You will use your stock ecu, stock wiring harness, stock sensors, and stock manifolds. You will need either 24lb/hr injectors or the 58psi regulator to make up for the bigger motor.

From what I understand the best year 2.4 to use is the same year car your swapping it into. I think 96-2002 are the easiest. Does the head have an EGR port? I am not sure on scrubbing the code for lock up, or if its even possible. The ATX ecu works nice with the 2.4 because of the lower rev limiter, the 2.4 should not be revved like the 2.0.
Well I got the PCM for free and it's good. My car is a 96 but all my sensors Are the 97 style. So I'd like to make this all work if possible. Or do u know a good place I can find a 97 dohc PCM for a mtx? And will the 97 mtx I have work with a 97 atx PCM?
It should be plug and play for the ecu, you may have to switch some pins around for the cooling fans to work, that was the difference between 96-97. I am not sure how far you converted it to a 97.
Found this on google. You may have to do some major googling to find what the pins are, or pull up the wiring diagrams and figure it out.
"The connectors for '96 to '99 are the same but '96 has a different pinout for the fan relay. Putting a newer PCM on a '96 will result in a fan that does not work and the engine will overheat. You would have to rewire and go to the newer style solid state fan relay."

Gonna get the ecu done by Sykes and flashed with a street tune and as a mtx. Problem 1 solved. But the car is a 96 according to the vin. All my sensors in the motor tho have 97 connectors and has nvr been cut into. I am the 2nd owner and bfr me was my grandfather in 2006. So it's all orig. how do u tell the diff between fan connectors? From my guess mine came with a 97 engine harness as it was produced late in the year.
The engine harness/sensors should be the same. The body harness is where the pins differ from what I understand. I think 2 pins need to be swapped for the fans to work correctly.
