Clunking sound

I replaced both front struts on my wife 98 neon the strut are tight when u hit a bump hard there is a loud clunk sound coming from the front end now I replaced both front strut cuz they were bad I thought

Did you have a good look at the strut mounts? They crack as well.

Ya I did they were brand new we ended up trading it in on a new car for the wife cuz it had 289xxx miles on it thank for the help tho
