Default Will not go into 4th Gear

'98 Sport and perfromance 5 speed. New bushing abut 2000 miles ago (except on on top of tranny) all was well until today she will not shift into 4th, lie hitting a block, all other gears are OK. Waht next (change bushing atop tranny)?

Visual inspection first. Go look and see what is or is not there.

What is not there is a bushing in the gear selector arm on top of transmission, tomorrow there will be one. Wonder how she was shifting at all

Shifter solenoid. Sounds like a likely candidate.
