COLD AIR

It depends on what other mods you have. On a bone stock car maybe 3-6HP. All it does is give you a more dense air charge by sucking colder air from either the lower part of the engine compartment. Also it is a little more free flowing than a stock intake. You will see some gains, but in my opinion the best part of a CAI is the mean sound you get a WOT.

seeing how you do only get about 4-6 hp from a cai, to me its not really worth the cost of
$$2-300. so its not very much hp per dollar, yeah the sound can be worth it. on my grandfathers 98 dodge ram sst he has a K&N, and the sound is amazing. he always has dual strait pip exausts and you can hear the intake very very well even with the loud exaust. but back to my point deff alot cheaper to go with 3.0 intake and mod it to your car, you get more hp per dollar and same sound. and you can make it look nice and not all ghetto-****ty looking. and you can just put a k&N cone filter right on the end, and there you go. there is probley a bunch of posts on this site to help you out with that, if you choose to do that.

ok, i put in a K&N Typhoon intake (picture below):
But, in total, if you cant hear that CAI when you WOT that thing... then your either def, or your stereo system is to loud (i can still hear mine with the stereo up all the way). Not to mention on the stock engine, it is giving me a fair amount of better performance. From the old to new... i can feel the difference in how it performs!!! Its small but very noticeable to me.
