Default 1997 Neon no pressure on clutch pedal

I have a very odd problem. I was driving down the street and coasted to a stop in neutral with my clutch engaged. When I went to disengage it I heard a pop and there suddenly was no pressure on it. I couldn't shift into any gear. When I turned off the car I could get all the gears fine. I just have no idea what it could be. I just put a new clutch in it in July.

Hydraulic or cable operated? Check the fluid level or the cable.

It is a cable clutch. Most likely the cable broke. It has happened to me twice (replaced it with one from the local pull-a-part which broke on me in less than a year. I also have had the pivoting bracket that attaches the cable to the clutch pedal break. It broke where the cable slides into the bracket. It goes in kinda like the throttle cable goes into the throttle body.
