Stripped plug
Hey Gang, long time visitor, first time poster. Lots of GREAT info here.
My daughter recently picked up a '95 Neon with the 2.0 SOHC.
the car has a rough idle (really can't even drive it), I decided to change the plugs, and the #3 plug is either stripped or rounded. It's really kicking my A**!
Is there any way of getting the plug out without having to pull the head off? Would one of them sockets ( the ones with the rods inside)for getting rounded bolts out work?
Thanks for the help!
Erick

NEVERMIND...
There was wadded up paper towel(?) inside the spark plug hole (cavern). I was working at night and couldn't see inside, but I got 'er out now.
Thanks for the awesome website!!
ya haven't heard the last of me...

that's what threw me for a loop. I have no idea why it was in there as it was clean and dry. There's no excess oil in the spark plug holes, or even on the valve cover for that matter.
Maybe it was aliens?
