Default car misses no trouble code but egr suspect

Not sure about this diagnosis but here it goes. my 95 dohc 5 speed has a slight miss at acceleation and cruising. no miss at idle ,but, when I disconnect my hose leading to the egr .the car accelerates and cruises smoothly, but than the same miss occurs at Idle. I had a trouble code a month ago for the egr and when I checked it out I found the hose was broken and replaced, since then no code. I figure if the valve was bad I would trigger the code. Any body else have this expierence. Thank's

It could be a bad egr, but more likely you just need a tune up.

Thanks for the replies, the car is tuned up and new wires I also tried premium gas and tried injector cleaner, let me ask u dazzellers_95 ,why did u disconnect your egr ? trouble code, running bad or both ? also how did you disconnect it ? did you just disconnect the hose ? Now that it's disconnected how does it Idle ? when I pull my hose the car accelerates and cruises much smoother.but than I get the same type of miss at Idle. untill my check engine light comes back on I'm reluctent to change my egr because in the past my obd has really been great for trouble shooting. I know if I pull the hose eventually the code will come up. Thank's again for your input.

You may get a code for the EGR if you disconnect it, just read the codes every so often, and you will see if there are any new ones.

I'm positive I'll get a code if I disconnect the hose,I just replaced the hose 2 weeks ago because I got a code and found a crack in it.The problem now is with the hose connected I don't get a code, car ran better with the crack in the hose, without the code I'm not sure what to replace but suspect egr,but at the moment still a perfect 55 coming up

Take the egr out and clean it. Mine was hanging and I cleaned it and it was fine.

i have not had a code thrown for my egr bein disconnected. i just undid the hoses from it, the electrical part is still hooked up. my brother who is a drag racin fanatic and owns a 69 gto, said it would help it run better in the 1/4. i dont know if that is true, but i did it and havent had any probs with it, it idles fine and everything. the only codes i have are the 21 code which is a o2 sensor cause of the hollow cat. but it works well cause the computer says "more fuel" and with the cai i have made, it does wonders.
if you have done a tune-up, and injector cleaner, do try the premium gas again, and maybe think about checking the gap on the plugs? i really dont know what else to tell you, so good luck.

Thanks again for the reply's, I'm gonna do like you said and clean it, I was told by some you can clean it and some you can't, before I take mine off what did you use to clean yours ? I heard you need a small drill bit ,which I don't have handy . If you could tell what you did I what tools I'll need ,that would be great .Thanks again

Really anything that you can get the carbon out with. Mine was on a blazer so the neon is a little different. Maybe a nail or screwdriver.
