Default 2.2 stroker kit?

was just on the howell site and was looking at a 2.2 stroker kit, said you had to over bore to 40 over. i'm not familar with the cylinder wall thickness on the 2.0, how close to the danger point is this for a street and strip(mostly street) application, as we're thinking of building the 2.0 instead of the 2.4 swap as neons are starting to fall in my lap all of a sudden, and finding myself with plenty of donors( got to go look at another one, has fog cutouts but no lights so 50/50 it might be a ACR), anyway i'm babbling..... is it to much to bore 40 over on a turbo car(looking for 500hp at least)

It actually does sound a little much to me, but howell is a trusted site and if thats what they recomend, I would go with it. PM Gary Howell.

there have been people that have done it up to 60 over and done ok, but 20 over with some low comp je pistons and short connecting rods are usually what people go with cause it is more than plenty. that is the goodies i am goin with eventually.

We have done a few customs ones at .100 over bore. I would never recommend that to a customer. .040 is just fine we do all the 2.2 crate motors at that.

Thats good to know, I have seen 350 regularlly get a .040 over with no problem, but I was not sure about the small 2.0 and if that was too much. Good info to know.

thanx, looks like we'll stick with the 2.0 for a base(the yard's starting to look like Neons-R-Us anyhow LOL), looks like it's gona be a 3-4 year rolling project, but when she's done she should look, handle, and run so sweet even that dam monnarail will shake in fear of this little mopar hehe
