Default tire size and clearance

will the 14" 4 bolt hole rims off of a plymouth aclaim fit on a neon? and if they will will the tires rub on the bottom of the strut spring perch?. My car is a 95 dodge neon 4 door plain jane with 13" 4 bolt hole rims on it now, but i can get 4 winter tires on rims from a plymouth aclaim ( 14", 4 bolt) really cheap from a friend who no longer has the car. the aclaims tires are 185/70R/14 and my neon came stock with 165/80R/13

I am not sure what size the Aclaim rims are, but yours is a 4X100

i was doing a look on my junk yard pc, and i do not see a 4 lug 14" wheel from an acclaim, they seem to be 5 lug 100mm. but if it is a 4 lug, they will fit on your car, mine has 185/75/14 on her right now, really close to the rear strut bottoms, i cant even get my finger between them, but it does not rub. what you will have to watch out for is the center hole on the wheel. the neon center of the hub is larger than most vehicles so you might need to mod the center of the wheel to fit over the neon center hub. good luck on that.

185/70R14's are 24.2" tall or so, you don't start rubbing until a little over 25" in back, depending. The link I had to all the hub center bores and bolt patterns is gone... But if it's a 80's-90's Chrysler 4-lug, it's probably 4x100 and the center bore is probably 57.1mm like the Neon. The wheel should have the bolt pattern and offset stamped on the inside somewhere (4x100 40JJ, for example), and sometimes will have the center bore stamped on there as well. If he's a good friend, he'll let you test fit them before buying...

Best of luck!
