95 Neon Engine Swap NEED HELP!
So I bent a couple valves on my neon when my timing belt skipped 1,000,000 teeth. I bought a new engine: 95 SOHC but it's got an AT and I am wondering if I can simply bolt on my MT to the engine? Someone mentioned that I might need to have the crank drilled to put a bering in or something... but they weren't sure if it was necessary on the neon
trany will bolt on perfectly, and will work also if you have the mtx engine ecu(computer) which you should have since you r car was a mtx in the 1st place right.
easy swap. good luck.

Putting in a new clutch as well by chance?
The 95's had a conventional (non-modular) clutch setup. The '96-up Neons built in the U.S. had a modular clutch that bolted to the same flexplate that is used for the ATX. The PT Cruiser modular clutch (non-turbo) is cheaper and more reliable than any of the Neon clutches and bolts right in (same tranny). You would need a dust shield from a modular-design tranny (try www.deyemeracing.com or your local salvage yard), and the bolts to attach it in back (dealer item). Don't forget a new throw-out bearing and the correct fluid (Mopar Manual Transaxle Lubricant) while you're at it.
Best of luck!
