d i y motor mounts....
i am in the works of trying to figure out how to make solid mounts on my 95 sohc.
i do not want to buy the filler or poly mounts, i want to make steel ones.
i know it has been done before, but i am having trouble figuring out how to do it.
i have a full set of extras from my spare engine, so how do you do it.
i was thinking of using 1/4" steel plates with some steel tubing for the bolt shafts, aligned accordingly with the stock locations.
any suggestions?
thanks....dave.

Sounds like fun!
A solid front and rear (bobble) are great. People have had problems with solid side mounts tearing - either the mount or the frame, depending... A solid bobble only runs $25 or so, and you can pick up used solid fronts pretty cheap if you know where to look.
Best of luck!

well, project "mounts" underway, it will be a weekend project, just cut all the 1/4" plates and tubing for the bolt shafts, will weld up next weekend, and install them. pretty straight forward.
what gains besides getting rid of that hidious tire hop will i gain btw? i was thinkin about .2-.5 seconds off my 1/4 mile time, but i really do not know, just hoping.lol.
