Just wonderin......
This is the first dodge ive owned (96 neon sport 2.0) Ive heard that neons are notorious for head gaskets, Is there a certin kind of oil and antifreeze that might help prevent this? Also, which plugs and wires work best?
Copper plugs and wires are the best on the Neon. NKG is the top recomended brand. As far as preventing the head gasket from blowing the best thing you can do is replace it now before it blows. Its gonna go sooner or later weather you change your oil type or not.
The only head gaskets that had problems were the 95- 97 I believe and most likely by now yours has been done. There should be a little tab on the gasket sticking out of the head with "MLS" on it. That means you have the good head gasket. There is no reason to change it if you are not having any problems.
