How do I remove these spark plug tube seals?
I'm replacing all my valve cover gaskets and gromets etc. and can't for the life of me remove the old spark plug tube seals. I've already messed one up trying to get it off and it's still on there, I'm trying to be careful as not to damage my valve cover so I gave up until I can get some help from some of you guys. Oh this is on my 98 sohc, I've tried needle nose pliers to try and pull it out and a flat head screw driver to try and tap it out but no luck.
The tubes themselves should be sealed into the cylinder head with lock-tight so remove the valve cover to get them off.
The seals come off from the inside of the cover also, making it nesssary to remove the cover.

Thanx for the reply's guys. I had the valve cover off so I was doing it right and no they would'nt just pop right out. I tore up 2 of them trying to get them out so I decided to take the valve cover to the dealership a mile away and had them do it, even the tech said that the seals were in pretty darn good so I now know it was'nt my imagination or anything.

The reason I say that is because on mine you can simply just yank the wires right out pretty easily.

He was talking about the tubes not the plug wires. Yeah they are in there pretty good, but should come right out with the valve cover off.
