Default E-Brake problem!

I have noticed that sometimes, for no apparent reason, my e-brake will not have any "pressure". There is litterally no resistance. (The brake light will come on but the car can still roll.) But magically, sometimes it will work and I have no idea why. Does anyone have any ideas.

Your rear drums might be out of padding, your cable is loose somewhere, or you could have air in your lines.

The cable may be hanging or the pads may be at the end of their life. There is no way it could be air in the brake lines as the E-brake is all mechanical.
