Default something i dont understand???

if the neon has the 420a engine and the Mitsubishi Eclipse has the 420a engine.
why dues the neon have 150hp and the eclipse only has 140hp?

dus`nt relly make sence dues it?

maby someone can tell my why this is.

they are not the same motors, don't recall what one is called what but only one is a 420a, in fact the heads won't even bolt up between the two. there is a thead in here somewhere in witch Gary Howell explans it but i'm to tired and lazy right now to look for it.

They are the same block. Thats about it, the heads are different as well as most other aspects of the motor. To answer your 140/150 HP question, there are neons out there with a non-overbored 420a motor pushing over 200hp, its all how they build the motor. Different cams, pistons, rods, and such will change the HP drasticlly

No problem. The neon is a great little car with lots of performance parts on the market. Depending on what you want to do and how much you have to spend, 400hp is not out of the question.

no im not trying to go 400hp

im just wanting about 250 or so. im planing on doing a turbo running 8 to 10psi of boost.

i was thinking about a lot of other mods that will make more power.
but i dont think the motor will take it. with stock internals that is!

The bottom end is suposed to handle 300HP. I don't know that I would go that far, but you should be fine if your lookin for 225-250.

yea i dont want to go that far my self.
i dont want to risk it caus this will be my dd as well as my weekend track car.
i dont want to thro rods on my way to work lol.


p.s. i just found this. its funny. it`s relly on a neon to.

????... I haven't actually seen one.. But I'm pretty sure that there was a Dodge Neon Magnum.. Although I believe it was created in canada

yes thats true there is a neon magnum but not a hemi thats the funny part.
