would any pcm be able to stop the light from comming on or are there only certin ones? i think i will just put a new egr on for now.

It sounds to me like you need an oil restrictor as you seem to be a fairly lead footed driver by what I've seen on here. It goes in the drivers side valve cover hose and keeps the oil from getting into the intake system. Here is the part number for what they call the make-up air restrictor: 4856291 It was mention in a TSB # 090795.

it needs a pcv valve. the oil restrictor was only needed on earlier acr model neons...as for the 96ish and newer the valve covers had some changes that made the restrictor unneeded.

Check the o rings that seal the spark plugs in the intake manifold.

It actually applied to any and all early Neon DOHC engines that were ran hard, not just the ACR models.
