spark plugs
Spark plugs will not improve power unless the ones in there are crap. Good copper plugs are relaible unless you are making serious pressure in the cylinders, and then Denso Iridiums seem to be favored. If you aren't boosted or running nitrous, stick with copper.
Best of luck!

RadarLove got's it right. Caveat for normal or lightly modded cars if you just want longevity then DOUBLE Platinum plugs are great, just not regular single platinum. Read the posts before.
Reason for boosted cars is than the fine wire or points become hotspots and lead to detonation.

radar is right, definately go with denso, or stick with copper. i got these for my 1st gen neon and it made a huge difference in horsepower and also a little better mileage. then again, my plugs before were stock. you may as well spend the extra couple bucks considering they are all relatively cheap
Ditto. In this case, you want the wires to perform well enough to make a spark in the combustion chamber. Unless you've got high pressure in there (turbo, nitrous, high compression), even the stock wires aren't going to have a problem. Neither will the stock coilpack, before you ask. Some of the better name brands may smooth out idle quality a little. If you have to spend money, go with Mopar, MSD, Magnecore, Crane. Avoid anything that's stupid thick, too cheap to be true, or says "Nology" or "APC" anywhere on it.
I highly recommend the MSD Super Conductor plug wires as the resist very high temperatures and allow far more spark energy to get to the plugs, hundreds of times more than stock. You will notice quicker starts, smoother idle, quicker throttle response and the exhaust will even be noticeably louder with them, so they obviously make a difference.
