dodge neon indy intake manifold
i was looking into buying an indy intake manifold for my 98 neon, but i saw somehting on this site saying its a bitch ot install and need some modification.... what kind of modifying would i havew to do, i was just hoping for atake off my stock manifold and put on this one and it would be all good...but appariently not, is it true it would be hard installing the new manifold?
People have had fitment issues in the past, having to grind down areas here and there. Others haven't had any problems. Just be aware that you may be spendig some quality time with a Dremel.
The manifold was designed to work with one specific car. It's not a bad design, per se. But unless you have serious airflow mods (true CAI, bigger cam, good header, aftermarket cat, larger exhaust piping, better mufler), you may actually lose power through the entire power band like dozens have already...
Best of luck!

so basically go with the extrude manifold instead, because i will get more power with that one. like im running nitrous and i am gonna be getting an turbo charger, . which one owuld u reccomend out of the 2
Either will be good for a turbo. I'd lean towards the Indy if it was a choice between those two. I'd rather have a short runner box-style though (custom made) for the money.
I've heard/read of some very impressive gains with the Indy intake, so you should be very happy with it since your not the one installing it.

My mechanic still has my car and he said it's going to be a pain to install the Indy. It does not come with any type of gasket or 0 rings that connect the intake manifold to the cylinder head so, some type of customization is needed. The stock rings wont work.
