Code 12 is 'Battery has been disconnected within last 50 key ons'
and
check and clean the plug into the coil pack. use electrical contact cleaner
Make sure you use dielectric grease on all electrical contacts after cleaning including plug wire connectors and the input plug

RE: Misfiring after new plugs wires and coil
here is what I have learned in the last week. From reading these forums and working on my own car.
Consistant Engine Stumbling 99% of the time will be fixed here
Only use copper plugs.
Proper gap on the plugs.
Make sure all connections on both ends of the plug wires are clean and have dielectric grease.
Make sure the coil contacts for the plug wires are all clean and greased.
Make sure coil input plug is clean and fits snug (use contact cleaner and use a toothpick with dieclectric grease)
Any bad or week connection from the pcm to the coil to the wires to the plugs can cause a consistant stumbling (more noticable at low rpms) and WILL effect fuel mileage.
Magor loss of power after given time of driving
If your codes are showing up good and your pcm seems fine then my next place to look would be the fuel delivery system.
Check your filler neck. if it is corroded it will fill your tank and your fuel pump and filter with debris.
If filler neck is good.
When your car is working good.
While off turn the key to on and listen for the fuel pump.
this should work consistantly.
If it does check when your car is acting like crap. If it doesn't come on or it comes on and makes funny sounds. Here is your culprit.
I would recommend changing the fuel pump and while your there the filter as well.
Always start with the simple.
Also if you get any sort of funny egg smells it means your cataletic converter is plugged.
Code 12 doesn't mean anything important just that the battery has been disconnected at some point.
flashing 12 55 is a good thing
12 battery
55 end of codes
Also remember it is normal to have many things wrong at once so multiple symptoms get confusing.
Clean up the free stuff
then replace the cheap stuff
then work on the obvious
Good luck - Please keep posting your questions.
If anyone is in the brooks alberta area I just recieved my new ElmScan 5 and can not wait to use it for testing and dynoing.
