Default P1296 and P0122....still giving me trouble

I'm still getting codes P1296 and P0122, No signal from the TPS and less than 5V at the MAP sensor. I replaced the TPS sensor and it still throws this code. So now I've concluded that maybe there's something that these two share? Like a shared circuit or something. Can anyone point me in any direction??? I'm stumped and would like to have the car by the weekend, thanks guys!

Well I do not have a wire schematic for Gen1 but GenII there is a splice near the TPS for a Shared 5V reference line. So you may check for this voltage at your TPS and MAP sensors. One side of the connector should be 5Volt middle would be reference and the other Ground. See what you get. GenII should be Violet/White wire.

I found a wiring diagram...It looks like for the TPS and IAT, all the wires go straight to the PCM except one that connects other sensors. I'm going to try and trace this wire and see if there are any breaks in the wiring. Not sure what else to do....

Mine had rubbed up against the sharp edge of the valve cover and was shorting out... Tracking down wiring problems can be a pain...

Best of luck!

tracked it down to two cut wires. soldered them and now it starts and runs! It threw the code for the rear O2 sensor and has a tick. I'm guessing one of the lifters/lash adjusters (whatever they're called on this motor) so I'll try to check them with the stethoscope and see if I can't pinpoint it. later

The tick is unfortunately fairly normal. Mine is obviously an intake lifter as installing my K&N Typhoon CAI made it clear as a bell from the intake. But now is gone since using Castrol Syntec 5W-30 and a Motorcraft FL-300 filter from Wally's World. FL-842 is the standard Mopar filter for Viper's etc. but the FL-300 is liter for the likes of the V-6 Lebaron. Just an even taller 842. On a GenII it is still above the sub frame. If I hit the filter I broke enough other things that I should not go anywhere anyhow.

Bascally try a "ahem" viper filter and synthetic oil. Thinner seems better from what I have been reading and see what happens.

As far as the O2 probably just change it and go.

switched to amsoil, and made a difference! good to go there!

as far as the rear O2 sensor, I changed it out and I'm still getting a faulty reading. It's P0138 by the way too. could this be a backed-up cat? I must say it doesn't seem as quick as my 2-door was and there's some smoke coming from under the hood (could be an entirely different problem). What do you guys think?

Also, can you clean the EGR's, or do they have to be replaced? Thanks!
