Default wheel bolt cover

what is bolt cover nut size to remove that center nut to remove the wheel cover to replace a broken wheel bolt. I know 21mm too small, 1 1/8 too small, and 1 1/4 too big. Does anybody know what size socket to use to remove the center nut on the wheel bolt cover in the rear on a 96 dodge neon?

It's 30mm, but you don't have to remove that to replace a wheel stud.

There is a slot that allows you to take off and put the new wheel stud in.

My hub nuts were 32mm on both my neons. I just removed them yesterday infact. I broke my 1/2" breaker bar and had to use a 3/4" with a 6' fence post on it to get it loose.

Look behind the hub. There is a slot that will allow the stud to be removed and replaced. Just line the stud up with the slot and knock it out. Then work the new one in using the slot for clearance. I always put an old lug nut on the stud I am removing before hitting it with a hammer. Just thread the lug nut on, taper side in, till the flat side is even with the end of the stud. This gives you a striking surface, and will not mushroom the end of the stud. If the end of the stud mushrooms, you will have another problem getting it out of the hub. It also keeps you from jamming the stud into the spindle if it misaligns with the slot. Once the stud is loose, remove the lug nut and take the stud out. It is extremely simple once you take a close look at it.
Once you put the new stud in, you can either stack washers, or use a nut that is bigger than the stud for a spacer. put on an old lug nut, with the tapered side out, and use an impact on the lowest setting to seat the stud.
