You can obviously swap in either the 1st gen SOHC or DOHC. The 2.4L from the Caravan/Stratus and the non-turbo PT Cruiser will fit, but does require a little work. Those are the easiest. There has been a 3.0L supercharged V-6 swap, and several V-8 swaps are in various stages of completion (there's a V-8 Hemi RWD neon running around maine right now). but those are serious projects...

Best of luck!

There is alot that would fit but getting it to run is another step. Radar covered the engines that will swap in with some work and that have been done.

there is the mitsubishi swap cause the eclipse used the same engine for a while as the neon and avenger also.

The Eclipse engines will not swap into the Neon. The N/A eclipse engine is the 420a which uses the same block, but has a reversed head and offers no more HP than the DOHC or ECB neon engine. The 4g63 which is the turbo eclipse engine will not bolt or swap in without serious modification. Both of those swaps are out of the question and NO the Neon and the Eclipse do not share an engine, just the block.

Regarding your car, it's a 95 not a 94. The build date may say 94, but it is still the 95 model. My 99 was built in 98, and my 97, built in 96. There is nothing unusual about that. You can forget about getting your SOHC into the 14's with just a header and short throw shifter. The TB would be a good choice but should be coupled with a CAI and no need for a Stage 1 clutch until you are putting out more HP. The coil pack won't add HP either.

As far as going to the V-tech Honda, you won't see better results and you will pay more for parts.

Um, no.

2.4 swap is the not hard.
Mine should be running tomorrow.
Don't bother swapping in a 2.0 dohc.
best swap if your car is sohc is a magnum swap.
