Get a code reader say at the ZOO (Autozone) and see what codes you got. There are a lot of OBDII codes do not have a direct translation to the dash OBDI style codes.

Read the codes by turning your key to the ACC on-off-on-off-on within five seconds and count the flashes. flash-flash-flash-flash...paause...flash-flash-flash..is a code 43 for example.

Here is some more info...

It happens when I start the car and back it out and park in the street. I the car runs for maybe a minute or so. It's done it 2 times and doesn't store codes. When I start it again it runs rough but eventually smoothes out. it does have 118K on it.

About 8000 miles ago, could it be the plugs?

Yes it could be. Put some stock champion plugs in there or ngk's!
