Default Idle Air Control problem

Hey guys i just checked the codes that i'm getting from my other Neon and its giving me code 25. which is the " Idle air control motor circuits problem, target idle not reached (+/-200), vacuum leak found" code and well its not the vacuum leak cause i just completely replaced all the vacuum hoses but what is this Idle Air control motor? and where it is located and such? also we had the AIS motor replaced and i was just wondering if the throttle body was supposed to be replaced along with the AIS? is that true?

Also around 2k-2.3k (RPMS) i can hear this high pitch sound coming from the front end on the drivers side... any ideas onto what that can be?

The code 25 could be:

*An open or shorted condition detected in one or more of the idle air control motor circuits.

*Actual idle speed does not equal target idle speed.

*MAP sensor signal does not correlate with TPS signal.

*IAC fully seated. Check for possible vacuum leak.

put the front end on jack stands and block the back wheels. with the engine at idle use an incense stick and slowly move it around your throttle body and egr valve. you should be able to see if any smoke gets sucked in and where (watch out for the cooling fan coming on). could be a bad o-ring under the TB.

i've heard of people removing and cleaning the egr valve and having good results.

Sounds like you idle air is bad. I have seen the motor make noise when stuck. Did you have the problem before replacing your AIS? That is your idle air control. Maybe the part is bad or fault in connector.

no we didn't have the problem before we had the AIS replaced.
