Default 4-speed auto in a 1st gen Neon?

Hey guys i was just thinking about putting in the 4-speed automatic in our other Neon once that 3-speed goes (whenever that may be)... but would it work? i know the reason why Dodge didn't put a 4-speed in it to begin with due to overheating but would one fit and would it be cooled down enough if we added a transmission cooler?

You will run into fitment issues and I don't know if adding a tranny cooler would help enough. Not only that, you will need to find a 4-speed that will bolt up to the engine and a PCM that will control it. The 2nd gen neons have a seperate pcm for the tranny I think or something like that.

Just put an MTX in there...you'll enjoy it more!
