Default Would Premium gasoline add kick?

Yes I know that premium is made for high compression engines and is a waste in normal compression conditions. Basically its designed for a lower flash point so that it can withstand higher pressures.

Anyways, my friends 2000 Integra really responds to premium, like it actually burns out if you stomp it from dead stop (atx) vs, nothing with regular gas.

Does the Neon has some kind of timing advance or something to go with the premium?

Just a question.

The DOHC's are rated for 91 or 93 octane due to the compression. I notice a bit more power and better gas milage in my 99 ATX with premium.

actually the dohc has a lower compression than the sohc engine does. the reason premium is better in dohc engines is due to the fuel and timing curves built into the computer programing. you can buy a computer from mopar performance for the sohc engine that requires the use of premium fuel. here are the engine specs right from chrysler.

2.0L ENGINE SPECIFICATION

Type In-Line OHV, DOHC & SOHC
Bore 87.5mm (3.445 Inch)
Stroke 83.0mm (3.268 inch)
Compression Ratio DOHC - 9.6:1 SOHC - 9.8:1
Displacement 2.0 Liters (122 Cubic Inch)
Firing Order 1, 3, 4, 2
Compression Pressure 1172 - 1551 kPa (170 - 225 psi)
Maximum Variation Between Cylinders 25%
Lubrication Pressure Feed - Full Flow Filtration (Crankshaft Driven Pump)
Engine Oil Capacity
With Oil Filter Change 4.25 Liter (4.5 Qts.)
Without Oil Filter Change 3.8 Liter (4.0 Qts.)

That's right, I got those two backwards. If you put a DOHC head on a SOHC block it will lower the compression, but the DOHH pistons put INTO a SOHC raises the compression ratio. The DOHC have more of a dome to them.

How is that mopar PCM, what kind of improvement did you get out of it?

It's sweet...I didn't dyno it, but I did notice an improvement. My 97 isn't stock either though.
