exhaust leak temporary fix????
ok so this isnt for my neon, its for my durango, but could be used with anything......but my question is...i have an exhaust leak on the rango that i cant reach with the welder, so what would work the best to fix it????...i was told that you can wrap it with duck tape and then when the tape melts it will fill the gap....is this one true???or is it just a redneck myth???
You could go to an exhaust shop, but since you drive a Durango you prolly don't have much money due to gas prices. You may want to invest in some JB Weld. It costs about $6 so that translates to about 20 miles for you. Try to dab it in the hard to reach area with a long stick or something. I don't know, be creative, use a finger if you can. That stuff should hold long enough till you can get it fixed or Christ returns, whichever happens first. Good Luck, hope it helps.

funny thing is is that its kinda true...the truck has been sitting in the yard for about a month now with the gas light on...ive been itching to go drive it but it takes 75 bucks to fill it up......i think i would rather drive the car if i can get about 10 times further on the same amount of gas....i just was wondering about the fix for now, that way if i do drive it i can put 10 bucks in it and go around the block a few times

slice up a beer can wrap it around the pipe and hold it on with hose clamps. the can is thin enough it can work on slight bends but not tight ones. good luck.

You can go to a salvage yard and find the joint on another durango and with a little welding fix the leek.

I pretty much figured he wasn't in the mood to actually fix the problem, that's why I suggested the JB Weld. As for the beer can, it will probably work but the JB Weld is easier, plus you can use it on other stuff when you feel lazy.
