speed limiter?
hey guys i was just wondering if the 1st generation Neon with the SOHC had a speed limiter? and also how fast (top speed) could a 95 Plymouth Neon Highline with the MTX and SOHC? i know that temperature, road condition and so on go in this factor but how fast do u guys think? its bone stock. in like 1999 or so i read i think in Car and Driver that they got a 1st generation up to 121 with the MTX. but not sure if it was a SOHC or DOHC.

SOHC = 118 MPH
DOHC = 130 MPH
R/T & ACR's = no speed limiter
SOHC = 118 MPH
DOHC = 130 MPH
R/T & ACR's = no speed limiter
All neons have a 118MPH speed limiter, except for the R/T's and ACR's which have a 130MPH speed limiter. The 95 ACR's don't have a speed limiter.
is that entirely correct though???..just wondering because i have hit 129 in my r/t with no problem, but it had a pcm from a dohc auto..in it since my r/t one got fried

I dont see why they wouldn't complain. Think about it. Your going more than double the speed limit, maybe 3 depending where you were. Their lives rest in your hands and your in a car that weighs nothing, and that if it hit a hit ditch or another car, would look like a hiroshima.
That kinda of speed should be kept for a track man. PLus the fact top speed really proves nothing. Its how fast you get there.
