which way to retard and advance on a neon? which is to the front of the car?

 

when looking at the crank pully the engine rotates clockwise. i assume you are talking about the camshaft. to get the cam to open sooner or advance it, rotate it to the rear of the car. have you anyway to measure the perfomance gains? otherwise it will be seat of the pants testing. hope this helps, good luck.
