OK, first of all, thanks again for the info everyone. Sorry to dig up an old thread.

An update. das2123 made the right call. After finally getting my car to the shop, it was diagnosed as a head gasket problem.
($600+ estimate)

Well, after what was posted here, I took it to another nearby shop for a second opinion. The second shop diagnosed the problem as the camshaft position sensor. I got it fixed today for $211.

p.s. If anyone wonders, I rode my bike and was saving $$ in the meantime just in case it really was the head gasket.

 

You got charged $211 to switch out the sensor? Damn, the sensor is only about $30 so they charged you $180 for labor!!!

 

my dad was telling me that you would have to pay around $1000 for the head gasket replacement
since you have to take apart half of the engine


which is why we are fixing it ourselves next week
and when we are putting everything together
the new tb and cai are goin in

 

On the neon, n way should the headgasket cost $1000, thats just insane. DIY and be a better man for it!!!!!!![sm=happy046.gif]

my dad changed it 100k miles ago
so we already know how to do it



the real tuners do all the work!

and it's $26!
wth?!

the resaon i wanted one is cause someone slamed their truck bed on my hood
so we got one from pick-n-pull
and it doesn't have the dodge emblem likethe old one...
