Default Cam gear

my timing belt broke and one of my cylinders got taken out.... anyways now i am in the process of rebuilding my 2.0L SOHC.

i am looking into those adjustable cam gears are they any good (they say 15hp!) or would it be better to get a new cam or both?

wha do you think....?

Cam gears don't give you any additional HP. They are for tuning and timing. AEM are the best for the neon though.

A Cam will give you HP, but you should also get a cam gear to help tune it...although not necessary. You will need to upgrade your springs if you get an aftermarket cam.

Since you are going to spend all the money on a new can and adjustable timing gear, I would suggest getting the engine section of the service manual(if it is in different books) or just the whole thing, They are only around $120 CAD.
