theres sumn peelin off my engine, is that spose to b sum kinda protective anti rust thing? cause it doesnt look like its workin. I jus wanna get it off sumhow...but I wanna make sure wat it is so I can maybe repaint it or sumn. Another question, I tried to take off my dip stick tube...an the part that attaches to the engine...well lets just say when I tried to pull it out it stayed wit the engine. its rusted on there. Anyone got any ideas how to get it out? its so rusted I cant even tell where it seperates from the engine...=(

 

is the "peeling" coming off of the valve covers or the block or head?

 

how exactly did it manage to sit that long for the stick to rust up ? you could try some type of lubrication to try to losen it up somehow, im thinking your talking about the dipstick handle which you could use some type of lubrication, but if its the actual stick itself then im not sure if you could do that, as for the peeling where exactly on the engine is ? if your talking about the valve cover then you have a couple of options, you could get a new valve cover or just paint the one you have now using a high temp engine paint. hope some of that was helpfull and good luck !!

 

haha sorry I forgot to mention that part, its peelin off the block, it looks like paint tho...and the car was sittin for bout 9 months. its the dip stick tube thats stuck not the dip stick itself. its jus at the bottom where the tube meets the block. thats where it broke off.
I got a few pics on my digi cam I'll get it on my puter soon.

the Block is easy - you can re-paint that with some High Temp Paint!
