ok about the shifting problem.
Check your shifter bushings, if they are worn out like mine, sometimes when you go to put the car into gear you will shift inbetween gears which is why its hard to get it in, Youll know if they are worn out because there will be a lot of slop or play in between your gears, if this is the case invest in the mopar booger shifter bushings. Itll make a world of difference I couldn't belive it plus there cheap and easy to install. When I took out my old bushings they were soo worn out that they crumbled in my hand.

when I put mine in at first there was no "wiggle room" at all, but now that they have loosened up a bit it is very nice. Ijust thought that part of your problem might be that there was too much "wiggle room" but I guess its some thing way more complex then is of my knowledge so good luck to you!
