Default rod berrings

i have a 98 dodge neon, i was wondering if the rod berrings can be changed from underneath. i know some cars you can with out having to lift the whole motor and deal with all that mess. please let me know as soon as possible. thank you!

its possible to change your rod bearings witout havin to take out the whole engine. But why are you changin it? If one of your bearing went out you mite wanna take out the whole engine an check out how erything else is. My Neons bearings went too. I ended up needin to bore my cylinders...get new pistons, a new rod, a new crankshaft an an oil pump. bits of the metal that flew off the bearings went into the oil an into the oil pump...which screwed it over.

the berrings only make a noise at low idle and i thought seeing as i have to do the water pump and timing belt that i'd change them too. they are not that bad.
