streetrace
i dont race in towns....always in the country....i dont like having little kids running around, people walking, traffic...and what not....
i slow down when i go by sumones house that i know has kids whether they are outside or not....just because i dont want sumone speeding by my house...why would i do it to them???...
in the country is the best and safest place..of course i only have to drive 30 seconds from anywhere around here to be in the country so its not like goin to the track which is almost an hour away

people arond here use the old K mart parking lot, that or the mansfield speedway, they don't charge much to get on there track either street racing is ok if its in a organized way and blocked off like this past weekend was bike week held at Mid Ohio race track ( any of you heard of that?) after the racing is over all the bikes head over to park ave and race and show off. but even with extreme caution its not a good idea for the simple fact that the police know when people race and wait in very good spots to bust people even with 2 way, and scanner security that's how I got busted once and that was the last time I raced on park ave or any other street, I was racing a auto honda with body kit and green lights who thought he was the **** so we lined up and I timed the green light perfectly and go a good jump then he pulled off some but I got him by 3/4 a car length, soon after we pulled over into a empty lot and too unmarked cars pulled up right behind us and gave us a lecture out of this world.
Ha ha fuzz Park ave unmarked cops at it again! The street racing here in MFD is decently monitored by the cops, they usually patroll through 2am to keep things inline making sure no one is going TOO fast. After 3 am any night theres street racing down park ave. Alot of times you can sit and watch the street for an hour and not see a car.
Fuzz i was in the same boat, It was about midnight i raced my cousins cavi, i was pulling ahead, i slowed down to turn around and take another lap.. he kept on goin... He saw the lights flashing behind us and i didnt. Luckly the cop gave me neusance opperation. Ive learned not to even try running cars when theres alot of people out.

yeah they're pretty sneaky he had a nice list of violations i had done and a list of ones that could have happend. before that I was just speeding down park ave not even racing when I noticed a cop car where the old Y is, just sitting there waiting this other guy was with me and going a good speed to, I looked in the rear and the cops headlights had came and he was pulling out, at that point I knew what was about to go down. it was gonna be me or him. so I headed down rowland onto 4th then hung a left on penn onto bowman then home.
I dont race on the street a lot but like spud I live in the country so there is not much around and the past times I have raced someone that honda, the mustang, the camaro they were all either on the highway or somewhere that no one else was. Either way I know its very irresponsible but going to the track is expensive.
you know for you people who live in the country with land to spare or can buy some, might try looking into making some kind of drag track and charge. in cardington ohio there is a place where trucks go mud runningIts called: Crums mud run and its pretty cool, three pits each and each one has a diff depth, stock trucks, bottle fed trucks, jeeps, blazers even some semi's give it a try ( 3rd pit only though) even crawlers come out and fly through into the empty corn field. with enough put up money and legal things taken cared of some of you guys could make a killing.
I thought about making a pit for my car to drive over once but I realized that Id needed a good amount of conctrete, concrete blocks, piping, running electric and making calls to find out where lines are, the dream lasted around 5 min
The Track is not all that expensive - Today I am racing at Daytona (Not just the Nascar Turns - but the International Horseshoe too)
I missed qualify today - so I had to start at the back of the pack.
I will have to get the exact stats for the group run overall
Started Dead Last in the run - position 59 - 6th in Class
Ran down the 5th position 97 Mazda Protege and took it about 2 laps into the race
Ran down the 4th postion 99 Honda Civic SI and took it about 3 laps into the race
Ran down the 3rd position 97 Dodge Neon ACR and took it about 7 laps into the race
Finished 3rd overal - was beat out by another Honda Civic SI and a Mini Cooper S
I will have to double check were I finished overal as there were many other groups on the track at the same time!
Paid $3k+ for a race prepped Neon
Paid $450 for a set of Kumho Race tires (Usually last 2 or 3 weekends)
Paid $275 for entry fee for Race and Garage Rental
Travel & Hotel cost approx $450 for a weekend in Daytona FL!
Your biggest expense is getting started and a tow vehicle and trailer - I was cheaped and about a Open Trailer and a used Suburban. I have learned to pack light!
Not only passing 3 other cars in my class and having fun
But luv pushing the speedometer over 120MPH is a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
I am hoping to borrow a GPS Data Acquistion System for tomorrow Runs - would luv to know how fast I am really going in the straights!
I guess I am not going fast enough because I never hit a speed limiter on my Neon!
I do bounce off the Rev-Limiter alot trying to get every ounce of Horsepower to the wheels!
