dont listen to the dealers they just want you to let them A. do the work and charge you a million bucks or B. sell you a new car
doing a swap is not too hard just time consuming.

You will have to use a 95 MTX PCM for your car, this means using the 95 wiring harness as well too!!!

If you can get the 95 dohc engine as comlplete as poss, such as allum intake ,computor and wireing harness it would make it much easier.Good luck

I have a 5 speed manual and The car I got was a 5 speed manual. After having this car, I will never go back to an automatic again! Praise whoever it is that you praise! I don't do a lot of racing for the most part. (sometimes I drop it into 4th and take off on the freeway when someone won't let me pass etc) If I would like to make my car faster and be able to race when I get an itch. I live in Portland Oregon and we have a track. On the weekends you can take your car to race legally and I have been thinking about spiffin up my ride and takin it out there, but I am real inexpereinced, so my gettning home in one piece that doesnt involve a body bag is important too. So gettng back to the subject, I don;t use it for racing but I would kind of like to every once in a while. But mainly I like to be a brat and wave when I pass someone on the freeway. Theres been quite a b it of work done which is another reason I don't want to scrap the car. WIll I be able to use my intake system on the 1997 and use it in the 1995?

But it's a SOHC so that makes it a little more difficult for people who have yet to do this swap.

So I guess my air intake is an iceman and my friend gav me some technical answer I didn't really understand, something about I think it runs down the firewall side? He says he think it will fit ok. I have a really stupid question...the 1995 neon I got has AC and the one I had before that didn't, when I swap the engines, will I have AC in my 1997?

The Iceman intake runs down into the front of the car not next to the firewall. Look below for a pic of the iceman installed...it's the blue tube!

Did you not have the A/C lines for the A/C or was it just out of refrigerant? If you did not have the lines, and you swap over the 95 with the lines, condenser, compressor then you will have A/C, after you get it recharged.

Then make sure they swap everything over along with the engine!

I have a 2.0 sohc to 98 2.0 dohc swap. the engine is 98 dohc manual and the shell is 96 sohc manual. I know I cant use the sohc cpu thats still in there and what i got from this post is I would need to get a 98 dohc manual cpu and a 98 dohc manual harness to stop it from running as hesitant as it is. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I've done 4 days worth of research through 4 other forums. you guys have put me closer to fixing my problem than any others sites and I've only been here an hour.
