Default Trunk Release

I was just wondering if my 97 Neon has a trunk release button somewhere. I looked but didnt find it in the glove box or by the driver seat. Is it hiding? My friend told me every car from 95+ has a button.
Thanks

Your friends been fibbin'! My '96 Neon Sport didn't have it either. On a Neon it's a mechanical lever that's beside the drivers seat on the floor. I just went to the JY and got one from a neon that came with it from the factory. If you end up doing this it's really easy to hook up, your latch to hold the trunk down already has the mount for the cable to hook up to.

lol, same with me! I think it's funny how the "sport" neons were barebones, but with a spoiler and some wavey lines.

the remote trunk release was offered as an option on the neons....same as the outide molding, the center console, body colored bumpers, and body colored door handles...all were options....and the cars can be ordered without them....
if you check in any neon brochure...specially the 95, you will see that alot of common things on neons are options....

i dont know what i would do without a center console...besides put one in..

The base model had a different console standard. See pic below...
