Hey guys im new to the forums and I just signed up cause im about to seal the deal on a 1995 Plymouth Neon with only 40,000 original miles...so its more then ready for mods. Im getting this car for only $2000 so its a great deal on a neon especially with such low mileage. I know theres a whole thread up there about how to make your 1st gen neon go faster but I was wondering what you guys recommend as the first upgrade to my car...besides removing the black weather stripping from my car lol. Oh another thing...I dont know if its a sohc or a dohc...i forgot to check. I'll let you guys know asap. Thanks, Ben.

 

if its a manual swap out the TB and put in the automatic TB... a homemade CAI or Iceman (Talk to Das...if he has any more or any at all lol)

 

Look at the 8th digit in the VIN#, if its a C then it's a SOHC, if its a Y then its a DOHC.

A CAI is usually the first mod people do to their neons. The Iceman, which has been discontinued, is the only true CAI for the neon or you can make your own. PM me if you are intersted in purchasing a used one.

Let us know whether its a SOHC or DOHC and we can go from there on upgrades!
