Default Random Vacuum line on passenger side...

So, I looked in my passenger floorboard this morning to find a random vacuum line laying there. It's maybe 1/4" - 1/3" diameter and black rubber. It was split on both ends, so I went to Autozone and bought a new line. The original was about a foot long, so to be safe I purchased 2 feet of new line. My dad said it was probably to control the A/C and interior air to the passenger side. I found one vacuum fitting by crawling under the passenger side dash and it was right behind the glovebox. I have no clue where the other end of this line goes. Any help?

as far as i can remember, if you take out the glove box, you might be able to see where it goes...it might run up to the top of the dash.....maybe i cant exactly remember.....but i do remember messing with it when i stripped down my car

ok, I'll try taking that out and post back when it's done. Probably will be tomorrow, cause it's dark outside now.

Try checking what is not working right if anything. Might give some clue.

This should actually be the recirc door actuator which is controlled by vacuum. So you should have a vaccumn control line from the control head on center dash to the door actuator on the ventalation box somewhere behind the glove box. If that line is intact it is the second source vacuum line to the control head and should have a tee somewhere to connect too. Look for lines from the engine compartment for where the source is.

ok, the side of the line i plugged in is the ventilation box side behind the glovebox. so do you know exactly where the control head is? is it just behind the ***** in the center?

thats ok, i drove around for almost a year without a glovebox in there...just the open space....i took my glove box out because thats where my playstation2 was mounted...we had a water line in the house break and the water drained into the basement right into my tub of interior trim parts....so i threw a bunch away.....for sum reason it didnt click that i might need that glove box again[&:]....
so i took out the playstation and just left it open until i finally got tired of it
