i rebuild my neon's head i reinstal everything up again start the car let it iddle for a while and taka it out to a test drive and just around the corner the car turns off try to start but wont star it kranks but dont start. later on i found the cam sensor desconected then i connect it again but the same then i used a sacanner and reads "camshaft position sensor cicuit malfunction" i inspect all the wiring seems everything ok, timing ok. i replace the cam sensor but the problem still on i really need help on this!!!!!!!!

 

Could be something with the computer. Maybe hit up a wrecker and find a junk neon, get the computer and try that. If it doesnt work your only out 30 or 40 bucks.

How did you check the timing? I bet it's off!

are you getting code 11 ? if so tear it down and recheck the cam timing, hard starting and that code i can almost garuntee the cam isnt in time right, especially since you replaced the sensor and it still comes back, when you put a belt on it can line up right, then you let the tensioner tighten one side and its off, keep all your slack on the tensioner side and make the other side as tight as possible when you put a timing belt on

well then i'd go back to tracing wires, maybe try one more new sensor, just because its new doesnt mean it works, you might have pinched a wire somehwee or pulled one out working on it, clean the plug out with brake cleaner, if you have WD40 or somethin in there it'll conduct across it and make it flippy, my ECT sensor did that with PB blaster in the plug
when you go through the wires bend them as you go across them, if its broke you'll feel a weak spot or it'll kink easy in one place
