i went on an adventure
i finally went out and got a Cobra scaner
and it picks up a few cars
then it just doesnt pick up anything
then i read the manual when i get home and find out i have to set up things
i thought it was already set up to alert when you were around any of the things i drove by
GUESS NOT!


on my way home though...
i was behind an EK honda civic and one of the newer 2k hatchback civic Si's
all of a sudden they both take off
i wanted to try to keep up, but i thought that they were way out of my leauge
i thought the EK had a bunch of mods on it and a stock Si could tear up the street
i was very very very wrong...
the two take off
racing away with their coffee-can exhaust systems blaring into the night
i'm behind them shifting around 3-4 rpms and they were probably 5-6 car lengths infront of me at the end of their race
i was very unsatisfied knowing that if i was going all the way to redline
i could have caught up and probably passed them if i had the room
my friends all have rice rockets
so i guess they are all just putting "the rice rocket on the pedestal"
when i passed the two, i downshifted into 2nd and reved the hell of out the car around the turn to my house
i really wish i could have had the chance with those 2 civics

 

I definitley hear ya. I live in Tampa Florida and around here every other car is a modified Civic or Integra. I can take all of them. Don't underestimate you car! If you're a good shifter and have a good reaction time, you can do anything. I have a huge list of "ricers" as well as a few domestics here and there that I have taken to town. A civic, unless HEAVILY modified, should go down easily. I don't even have to try. Stick with it man, learn the limits of your car, and show them why that "POS Neon" shouldn't be taken lighty. i have found that the only cars that worry me....without getting into v8's and turboed cars and what not.....are...any 2000 and up ford tauruses and any 2000 and up grand ams.......no matter what i do, i cant even keep up with them[:@]

 

Yeah, I smoked a 2000+ GMC Sierra 2500 the other day, R/T's are pretty quick.

 

You should try to find a drag strip in your area that has street legal nights ,and go find out exactly what you can do (safely).It realy is fun and you can usualy get 3 -5 runs for about $20. Last friday (Sept 1) I got to race a $40,000 + turbo Passat wagon- he got me by .45 secs,a Tiberon-I beat by.78 seca,another neon -I beat by .37 secs and worst of all- a Civic a kid bought all built up-beat me by .61 secs[:@], but I did get my best run in that race 15.96 secs at 84.39 mph . Now thats good clean fun

i figured that only the newer luguary cars and any super/turbo charged cars are the ones to really worry about

the other day i beat a newer v6 honda accord by a few car lengths

Civics aren't fast...quit thinking of the Fast & Furious.

They can be quick if done right just like a neon.

 

Stock Civics are slow as hell. People just think they are fast because they tend to be a tuner's Rice Car of Choice. I for one, would much rather have a 240SX to play with...

But, my friend owns a 95 MTX Neon and he's dusted many Civics...

 

i dont like civics because almost everyone has them and they all do the same thing to them.....probally because its so cheap to do compared to other cars.....i would rather have a 300zx or a 3000gt vr4...think id go with the zx though....that is if i couldnt have a WRX of course

 

I would like to have a 99-00 Blue Civic SI...they are pretty. But too expensive to mod and not enough of them laying around in junkyards to pick parts from.
