Default Severe Hesitation - no CEL codes

Ok, I am getting the standard code for O2 sensor (same one I have been getting for a while now).

But now, I am getting severe hesitation. When driving along, it almost feels like somebody is squeezing the fuel line and restricting it. The RPMs just start falling off, and nothing I can do will reverse it. Full power comes back on within .5 - 1 second, but it really sucks when it happens as I am trying to accelerate into traffic!

Any ideas - I am thinking things like Fuel filter, fuel pump (I would think it would throw a code), maybe ignition (another code???)

Fuel related problems don't throw codes. When was the last time your car had an all-around tune-up? Check your plugs and wires and battery connections.

das 2123 has a very good start for you to follow. Also try a good fuel injector cleaner like Chevron Techron or Redline SL-1.

I have checked the plugs and I keep a good eye on the battery and connections. Plugs are slightly chalky (more than likely due to the O2).

Ok, more info - No hesitation when AC is not on. It could be OK, as it is actually got under 100 deg. today, so I might be able to not worry about it until next summer

if your o2 sensor is way off it can cause a hesitation, its more than likely fuel filter or the pump getting weak, could even be the MAP sensor gettin old & not responding fast enough, but not slow enough to cause a code yet
