Default Engine Oil Cooler

Has anyone put an engine oil cooler on their neon yet? I'm willing to try it. My dad says it will probably be a good investment as it will prolong the life of my engine. I can get a TRANSMISSION oil cooler for about $25, and my question is whether you guys think it can work or not...if it won't, I'm going to a junkyard tomorrow to try to get a true engine oil cooler from a junk car. Well, im going to the junkyard anyways, but I'd look for that too.

EDIT: Also, which is thicker: Engine oil (10w30) or Transmission fluid?

You don't need an engine oil cooler, but the tranny cooler would be a good idea since you have an auto.

10W30 oil is thicker than any transmission fluid.

EDIT AGAIN: how do I hook up a transmission cooler to the transmission lines? lol I'll do that if I dont do the engine oil cooler.

No, I was saying to use a tranny cooler for your tranny...not your engine. If you get one, it should come with instructions.
