newspapers lol like that game for nintendo. that game kicked butt. anyways, are those OEM's slow? or better then OEM?

 

You know what.. I had a bad feeling it would be something like that.. with the location of where it was.. and then there wasn't anywhere that the fluid could leak from.. ie hoses seals ect... Ugh.. how much a PITA is the rack to replace.. any special tools...?

 

How hard would it to be to buy the Rack and Pinion kit and replace the gaskets and o-rings and such.. its much cheaper than buying remanned

easy?...LOL. i wouldn't think it would be too much diff than rebuilding a brake caliper. same basic operation. o-rings and pistions. are you able to check out the rebuild kit to see what's in it?

 

replacing the rack is not that hard. First, inspect the lines to see if its an easier fix though. if not, remove the lines and steering linkage and a couple of bolts later its out. Most units come with new inner tie rods so its a good idea to check and or replace the outers. takes a good part of a day and the only think you'll screw up is your alignment so note the outer tierod positions before you remove them and have an alignment shop ready to straighten it up for you as soon as you can get it in

 

I had the outter tie rods replaced not too long ago.. so they should be OK. Is rebuilding the rack really *THAT* hard?

 

i neede an inner tie rod a short while ago, but instead of replacing the rod, i just changed the rack....allong with the cross member, control arms, spindles, struts, and added a sway bar.....it wasnt that hard if you go that route
