Turbo installed.......now smokin!!
ok, i have a garett T3 on my strat, and now it is tossing some serious lookins smoke out of the exhaust...i just put in a new head gasket in like 2 months ago! could i have blown that up already? or could somthing else be going?
Thanx in advance for your input.

what color smoke? and i'm not a expert or anything lol but could the PSI be too much for some of the internals? such as rings or valves or something? not sure what 2 much PSI does to the engine but i know its not good. and my sisters car blows out smoke and its just oil due to bad rings... not good
how much shaft play is in the turbo? you coulda burnt the seals or the bearings are trashed, do you let it idle for a few minutes to cool down after beatin the hell out of it or just shut it off right away? if you dont let it idle and shut it off hot it burns the oil out of the turbo then its dry on startup eats up the bearings & seals real quick
the turbo was bought "freshly rebuilt", so i'm hoping that is not the problem also i was told it is internally wastegated to 7psi. As for the smoke if the car is idle for a little while then you take off there will be a huge cloud left behind thats mostly a white/blue color hard to tell if it's oil or coolant...i will be doing a compression test today to see how that is. This is a long shot but i changed oil from high mileage to synthetic blend could that have done somthing?
White smoke would be HG and blue smoke would be oil. Did you check the compression on your car before the install? If you have some minor problmes before the install, then the turbo will find, expose, and make them worse!
Synthetic blends are a WASTE of money...go fully synthetic or stick to conventional.
