i have 2 dohc motors in my garage. i was going to use the block from one and crank from another.....since i cant seem to get the crank timing gear off, and i broke 1 of the tensioner pin bolts off in the oil pump.....so i figured i would switch the whole crank.....now i still have to figure out how to get it off.......its not that i dont know how, but that i just cant, it wont move

im not gonna be to familiar with the pt's engine....its got the 2.4.......but i do know where a turbo sits for it

yeah but i cant do that to her soon-to-be new car.....i think she would probally divorce me

besides she deserves a nice new car.....besides, i like being as young as we are and having nicer vehicles then alot of people around here......but lot of peole think that we are just driving our parents cars

i think though, if i my turbo project works out right, then i will get one for the pt next

seems odd the crank wouldnt work in the other block if it was in good shape, unless it was a different journal size, then that would make sense
anything is possible anymore...

a remanufactured crank is only just over $200 dollars and comes with both rod and main bearings - it is well worth buying one remaned!

I rebuilt my engine 3 times!!

1st time I thru a rod - so I bought a SOHC engine and replaced the Pistons, Rod and Main Bearings, and moved my DOHC Head over to it. 1st race I had spun a bearing on piston 4

2nd time Bought a DOHC engine that had been sitting for a year - was able to turn over the engine - but had low compressions - so Replaced rings, Rod and main bearing, oil pump. 1st race on that engine I had spun a bearing on Piston 1

3rd time I took the 1st attempted rebuild SOHC engine and replaced the Crank and bearings - and I have about 8 races on that engine with no problems.

well i got the motor all together and installed in the car......but no it wont turn....it seems as if sumthing is bindin around the tordue convertor.....so tomorrow if i have a chance...after the demo derby....i am gonna pull the trans back off and try it again....hopefully it works.......i was just hoeing that it was gonna work out fine....but its kinda tough to turn from the crank bolt...and it wasnt like that before i put the trans on.....

i didnt want to get a new crank because we didnt have the money for the rebuild as it was......and we are hopefully just gonna trade the car in monday or tuesday when it gets goin.....

im just to pissed and irritated right now to even put too much thought into it.....and ive gotta get up and go to work in 2 hours[&:]
