will this work with a DIY CAI bypass valves and would i have to get a specific one like atx or could i use the mtx abs one with my car?

 

Yes it will work, you will just have to cut your piping or tube and slide it in there. Part # 432614 20401S should work just fine for you...a little overkill for me, but whatever helps you sleep at night

 

i thought overkill too when i first heard about it. but whats the real risk of getting hyrdolocked. does the filter have to be submerged or could it suck up enough water with me hosing the engine bay out and what not

 

Pretty much. The filter would need to pretty much fully submerged and sucking UP water to get hydrolocked. Spud runs a pretty nice DIY CAI and has no problems and I have run the Iceman thru some pretty good rainstorms with no problems. I just stay away from deep puddles, especially since my car is lowered.

 

thanks what i needed to know. ill take some pictures of my CAI just for a point of reference. doesnt have a k&n on it yet but thats been ordered
