Sohc vs. Dohc
I would say the DOHC, but it take little to no time to get the SOHC up to the power of the DOHC. My brother is past the HP of a DOHC, and all he did was put a new computer, intake, and Dynomax exhaust. And rebuilt the engine. I heard that the DOHC has LOTS of problems though.
that dyno sheet makes me wonder if my timing belt on the sohc isnt off a tooth, i dont get a code, but its a complete tird untill about 4500 RPM then it comes on like a vtec honda & pulls pretty good in the top

im sure it wouldnt be hard to get a sohc up to the power of a dohc.....but put a new computer, exhaust, and intake on a dohc and then see how far apart the power will be

Must just be in the cams or compression if one isquickerthan the other. Correct me if im wrong but are we not opening 16 valves either way. I've heardthe SOHC head has more compression. Anyway, im throwing the DOHC head at my 2.5 turbo shortblock just to try it out.
Simply put, the TB is what allows air into your engine when you press down on the gas pedal. There is a butterfly plate in there that pivots to allow more air in as you press down on the gas. A bigger TB allows more air to flow into the engine.
